At AtkinsRéalis, we're not just designing infrastructure, we're engineering a better future. As part of our Networks & Drainage Solutions team, you'll play a key role in delivering sustainable, resilient, and forward-thinking civil engineering solutions that support communities and protect the environment.
We're looking for a Civil Engineer with a growing track record in water, drainage, and infrastructure design. This is an opportunity to advance your technical capabilities and career, contribute to nationally and internationally significant projects, and collaborate with some of the UK's leading experts in the field.
Your Purpose:- Take a substantial lead in delivering and supporting the design of drainage, wastewater, and surface water management systems across a range of infrastructure and development projects.
- Prepare and check technical reports, drawings, and specifications in line with current standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on major UK infrastructure programmes such as Sizewell C, Lower Thames Crossing, our national Rail portfolio, and initiatives to reduce Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) discharges.
- Contribute to integrated water management strategies that prioritise climate resilience, sustainability, and community protection in both the UK and internationally.
- Apply your experience of digital tools and data-driven approaches to enhance design efficiency and project outcomes.
- Support socially impactful initiatives like EDAROTH, delivering sustainable infrastructure and housing for underserved communities.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with relevant experience in drainage or water infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industry standards, BIM, and design tools such as Causeway Flow, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
- A good and increasing commercial awareness to support our work-winning activities nationally and internationally.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across teams, whilst also engaging with clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to learning and development, ideally working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with either the ICE or CIWEM; and a willingness to support mentoring of junior colleagues.
We're ranked as one of LinkedIn's Top 25 Companies, where UK professionals want to work and stay once they join. We've also made the Times Top 50 employers for women.
Our Infrastructure team uses innovation, new approaches, and the power of data to help our clients deliver end-to-end projects and programmes for essential future infrastructure. As the work becomes more complex, our employees continue to challenge the status quo.
We're committed to engineering better for people and our planet, from our global Engineering Net-Zero programme to creating social value through EDAROTH community housing. We're proud of our active employee networks creating awareness and allyship for under-represented groups. We also support communities outside AtkinsRéalis, including schools, charities, ex-forces, and professionals returning after career breaks.
