Overview

Job Description A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Downstream Shift Manager at our new state of the art single use Multiproduct Biotech facility. The successful candidate will lead the team to deliver batch operations successfully, identify and resolve issues in order to allow the site to deliver for our patients in a culture that supports Quality, EHS, Learning and Continuous improvement. Reporting to the Associate Director of Manufacturing, this role is a central people lead role on the manufacturing team. Bring energy, knowledge, innovation to carry out the following:

Responsibilities
  • Mentor a team of biotech associates in the production of biologic drug substance who are responsible for the day to day shift operations at the site.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for others on the shift team, serving as a key liaison for the site shift lead for ongoing operations in a process area.
  • Focus on delivery to the patient through living the culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve in conjunction with the ability to lead self directed work teams.
  • Act as a coach or mentor to the biotech associates on specific unit operations as needed to support the value stream.
  • Guide approved projects and continuous improvement initiatives that are in alignment with the site strategies.
  • Assume people lead responsibilities for direct reports.
Qualifications
  • A science qualification in a technical, engineering or science based discipline; a master's degree is desirable.
  • Eight (8) years of technical experience.
  • Proven leader capability in developing people and teams, with demonstrated ability in mentoring others to achieve outstanding results.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally, focusing on meeting and tracking schedules, and embracing an interdependent work culture.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and general technical and biologic operations understanding.
  • Ability to think logically and be proactive under pressure.
