Job Description
Domestic Assistant, Ward Assistant and Catering Assistant Event

The closing date is 03 May 2026

Note: At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

Roles on offer
  • Domestic Assistant - Royal Stoke Hospital
  • Domestic Assistant - County Hospital
  • Ward Assistant - Royal Stoke Hospital
  • Catering Assistant - County Hospital

Only part time and bank hours are available for these roles.

Main duties of the job

Successful individuals will be adaptable, self motivated, able to work to clearly defined achievable goals-individual, team and operational-and to undertake any other duties required by the Trust.

Job responsibilities

Client must provide ID in order to be interviewed; full ID checks and forms will be completed.

Examples of ID documentation to bring are as follows:

  • Bank statement / Utility bill (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Tenancy agreement / Mortgage Statement / Council Tax statement (dated within the last 12 months)
  • Driving Licence (current address and valid)

ID documentation:

  • Valid Passport
  • Driving Licence (current address and valid)

Please ensure if any of your ID is in a different name you are able to provide proof of name change on the day of your ID check appointment (e.g. Marriage Certificate, Deed Poll or Decree Nisi).

Person Specification Experience
  • Ability to communicate with other staff, Trust employees and service users
  • Previous working experience within an NHS environment
Education and qualifications
  • Basic understanding of spoken and written English
  • Ability to complete basic paperwork relevant to duties
