Weekly responsibilities

  • Dust lounge and dining room
  • Wipe down and sanitise surfaces, tables, TV's, light switches and door handles
  • Clean the kitchen: wipe down all surfaces, cupboard doors and sink; clean ovens, microwave, kettle and toaster

You are likely to have worked in a domestic or commercial cleaning role before and be confident and comfortable working in a highly diverse and varied role where genuinely no day is ever the same.

Driver requirement

Due to the locations of the various homes we will require the right candidate to be a driver and have their own vehicle to travel between homes as a number of the homes are not accessible via bus or tram routes.

We hope you will see this role as a way of supporting our residents and have the patience and understanding to support their journey to independent living beyond their time with us. You will get to know our residents as you visit their home and we hope you would foster a positive, trusted relationship. We would also want you to know you could report anything that gave you concern about their well being or safety knowing that we would be able to intervene and support them should they need it.

DBS check

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. We reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date should we be able to appoint to the role.
