Job Description
Starrycare is seeking a reliable and dedicated Domestic Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment across our client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and housekeeping duties to the highest standards, ensuring all areas are hygienic, well-presented, and compliant with health, safety, and infection prevention policies.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitise bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, communal areas, offices, and other designated areas.
- Carry out routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and emptying bins.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are completed accurately and on time.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables as required.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
- Handle laundry duties where required, including washing, drying, ironing, and distributing linen and clothing.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness while respecting clients' privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, health and safety, and COSHH regulations is advantageous.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Previous experience as a Domestic Assistant, Housekeeper, Cleaner, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience working within care homes, hospitals, supported living services, hotels, or commercial environments is an advantage.
- Good understanding of cleaning methods, hygiene standards, and safe use of cleaning products.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
