We have a rare opportunity to welcome you as a District Manager with our Folkestone Health Visiting team. In this role you will lead and support colleagues to deliver the healthy child programme, you will collate monthly data reports to support governance, provide analysis of team data, undertake specific audits and support the supervision of practitioners ensuring best practice is adhered to while supporting the ongoing development and service transformation, we are a research active service and passionate about public health. The role requires a strong focus on physical visibility in the team but with room to work remotely at times. You will be supported by a friendly team of experienced operational managers, so if this is your first managerial role, help will be on hand.

Main duties of the job

What will the role involve?

  • Responsible for the line management and development of district colleagues, ensuring that all have the appropriate competencies and up to date training to enable them to safely undertake their roles.
  • Provide advice and guidance on and undertake a range of competent clinical and non-clinical interventions to support colleagues, the service and maintain clinical credibility.
  • Work closely with the Family Partnership Programme Leads and Senior Practitioners to ensure that there is a continuous leadership presence within the district whilst retaining overall responsibility and accountability for performance.
  • Lead, attend and contribute to team and service meetings.
  • Building relationships with all stakeholders to enhance the team working environment and partnership working across the system

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visitor
  • Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
Qualifications
  • Current NMC registration
  • Working towards Master level study
Experience
  • minimum of 3 years of experience in a public health environment in area of practice
Experience
  • Experience of leading and managing teams Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management.
  • Management or supervisory qualification / programme of study
Experience
  • Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads
  • Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor ) experience
Knowledge
  • Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services
Knowledge
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations
Knowledge
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months
Skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation. Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
