Dispute Resolution Solicitor

Our client is an established and well-regarded law firm with a strong presence in the East Midlands, and they are looking to appoint a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join their team in Derby.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 2-4 year PQE Solicitor looking to develop their career within a busy and varied dispute resolution practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of contentious matters, advising clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of contentious matters, working closely with clients to provide practical and commercially focused advice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own caseload of dispute resolution and civil litigation matters
• Advising individuals and businesses on a range of contentious issues
• Handling disputes from the pre-action stage through to litigation and resolution
• Drafting pleadings, statements, correspondence and other legal documentation
• Advising on contractual and commercial disputes
• Dealing with property and landlord & tenant disputes where appropriate
• Conducting legal research and providing clear, pragmatic advice
• Liaising with clients, counsel, experts and other third parties
• Attending hearings and supporting with advocacy where appropriate
• Negotiating settlements and exploring alternative dispute resolution
• Managing deadlines, costs and case progression effectively

About You

We are looking for a Dispute Resolution Solicitor with around 2-4 years' PQE and a genuine interest in contentious work.

You will ideally have experience across areas such as:

• Commercial Litigation
• Property Litigation
• Debt recovery

The successful candidate will have strong drafting and analytical skills, good attention to detail and the ability to provide commercially sensible advice to clients.

You will also be confident managing your own caseload, comfortable working to deadlines and keen to continue developing your technical and client-facing skills.
