Job Title: Disability Coordinator
Shifts Available: Day shifts, Mon - Fri
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri - 9 am to 5 pm with some flexibility required for the needs of the service
Purpose of RoleThe Disability Service Coordinator will support the management and effective delivery of Barróg Healthcare Disability Services in Cork. They will provide direct line management, supervision and leadership for the Service in accordance with the service delivery model and oversee the work as part of a multi agency response. The Coordinator will ensure a welcoming, safe, caring, stable and supportive environment, promote a culture of dignity and respect, and facilitate participation of young people and vulnerable adults in service planning and review.

- Proficient ICT skills, including Excel and Word, and familiarity with Outlook
- Proven experience in a leadership role and knowledge for proper discharge of duties
- Experience managing people in a fast paced health or social care environment
- Full clean driver's licence
- A minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role in health or disability
- Support the client group in a non judgemental, respectful manner
- Ensure high standards and user centred service delivery
- Manage and develop self and others in a busy setting, prioritising caseloads
- Good understanding of policy, legislation and professional requirements (e.g., Child Care Act 1991, Children First Guidelines, Vulnerable Adults National Policy, HIQA regulations)
- Effective communication skills, including mediation, conciliation and advocacy
- Manage assigned budgets, including financial packages for clients and service budgets
- Initiate and innovate to improve service areas
- Implement HR policies and procedures with compliance
- Appreciate service users as experts, promoting their role in planning and development
- Provide direct line management, supervision, and leadership for the service, fostering a positive culture
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide staff supervision
- Work directly with clients and families to deliver person centred support
- Build relationships with internal and external teams for efficient delivery
- Ensure clear, concise, accurate communication with teams
- Maintain accountability and follow through on client responsibilities
- Inform Referral Agents of significant matters under direction of Service Manager
- Manage enquiries, complaints and allegations from clients
- Promote a welcoming, safe, caring environment and uphold dignity and humanity of each person
- Support out of hours "on call" facility with escalated queries
- Recruit and manage the staff team, including supervision duties
- Lead projects in the Service Manager's absence and support service compliance with legislation and standards
- Manage client files, including risk assessment, safety plans and care plans
- Provide staff support and carry out administrative and financial procedures per policy
- Prepare reports, statistics and other information required by management
- Collaborate with the team and contribute to policy development
- Manage and develop self and others, prioritising caseloads in a busy environment
- Demonstrate effective leadership and team skills
- Empathise and treat others with dignity and respect, fostering a positive culture
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and stakeholders to achieve high performance and realistic objectives
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet role requirements
