Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Director of Structured Products at a European Corporate & Investment Bank in London.

Main Purpose of this role

  1. Structuring credit solutions for clients, including client discussions, idea generation, documentation negotiation, and presentations.
  2. Managing medium-sized projects such as NPPs, resource planning, performance monitoring, and ensuring targets and approvals are met.
  3. Developing innovative structures demonstrating technical expertise and commercial judgment.
  4. Defining and improving processes, systems, and procedures to meet standards and enhance efficiency.
  5. Implementing business plans focusing on income growth and geographical expansion, considering regulatory factors.
  6. Engaging in continuous professional development and skill improvement.
  7. Collaborating with Sales to generate new trade leads and structures.
  8. Ensuring trades are tax-efficient and compliant with evolving regulations.
  9. Presenting to senior management and participating in committees for trade approval.
  10. Working with Legal and Operations to ensure legal and operational efficiency of trades.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Focusing on Europe and the Americas, including client meetings and internal networking.
  2. Origination and structuring of credit derivatives, repo products, collateral lending, swaps, and illiquid assets.
  3. Building and executing a pipeline of business opportunities.
  4. Managing internal approval processes for transactions.
  5. Understanding modeling, quantitative analysis, and XVA related to credit derivatives, FX, and interest rates.
  6. Possessing detailed knowledge of relevant documentation (LMA, LSTA, ISDA, GMRA, GMLSA) and negotiation skills.

The Successful Applicant

Key qualifications include:

  • At least 7 years of experience in trading or structuring fixed income structured products.
  • Degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Quantitative Finance) with 2:1 or higher, plus advanced qualifications (Masters, PhD, or professional).
  • Experience in structuring or trading structured credit derivatives, and either structured repo or illiquid assets.
  • Proven track record of revenue generation from structured credit derivatives, repo, and illiquid assets.
  • Collaborative team player with integrity.
  • Maintaining necessary FCA licenses and qualifications.
