The Waldorf Astoria London, Admiralty Arch is looking for a Director of Safety and Security to join the pre-opening team for a brand-new luxury hotel opening in summer 2026. Located at Admiralty Arch, a Grade I listed building at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, the project is a collaboration between Hilton and Reuben Brothers. The hotel will feature 112 rooms and suites, including a two-bedroom VIP suite, rooftop and ground-floor terraces, world-class dining, a Spa, and a 320-cover ballroom. This is a pivotal role within one of the world's most prestigious hotel groups, reporting to the Director of Operations and collaborating with Hilton's regional Safety & Security leadership to uphold standards of excellence.

This is a pivotal role within one of the world's most prestigious hotel groups. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Operations and collaborates closely with Hilton's regional Safety & Security leadership to uphold and advance our uncompromising standards of excellence.
Responsibilities- Champion a culture of safety and security across all hotel operations, ensuring alignment with global brand standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct high-level property audits and inspections, identifying risks and implementing proactive solutions.
- Implement and oversee the hotel's comprehensive safety and security management systems, including emergency preparedness, crisis response, and business continuity management.
- Lead the development and execution of internal risk assessments, hazard analyses, and compliance reviews.
- Serve as the principal advisor to hotel leadership on all matters related to safety and security.
- Executive Collaboration and Operational Leadership.
- Partner with senior hotel leaders and department heads to embed safety and security protocols into operational workflows and guest experiences.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and emergency services to ensure seamless cooperation and compliance.
- Oversee the hotel's audit program, ensuring timely resolution of findings and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the planning and execution of high-profile events, ensuring robust safety and security controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the Safety & Security team, fostering a high-performance culture rooted in accountability and excellence.
- Deliver executive level training programs in security, health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and accessibility compliance.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to ensure the hotel remains at the forefront of safety and security standards.
- Stay abreast of evolving legislation, industry trends, and best practices, ensuring the hotel remains compliant and competitive.
- A Director of Safety and Security serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fulfil this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow.
- Extensive experience in safety and security leadership within luxury hospitality or a comparable high-profile environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Inspirational leadership qualities, with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams positioned to exceed targets.
- Passionate about delivering unparalleled guest service.
- A calm, composed presence under pressure, with the agility to adapt to demanding schedules and evolving priorities.
- Ability to deal effectively with all Team Members and guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information.
- Exceptional interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage complex situations with discretion, tact, and strategic foresight.
- Technologically adept, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
- Highly organized, with strong budgeting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to make decisions independently, complete in-depth investigations and act as an expert in Safety and Security within the hotel.
