Job Description

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.

We are Hiring a Director of Nursing to lead a Nursing care home in Waterford, Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Provide governance, leadership, and overall operational management of the nursing home.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical and social care services to residents.
  • Manage resident admissions, transfers, transitions, and occupancy processes effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders including HIQA, HSE, and GPs.
  • Lead HR functions including staff supervision, team development, recruitment support, and performance management.
  • Ensure effective financial management and administrative oversight within the service.
  • Oversee facility operations and service management to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality care environment.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) register.
  • Minimum of 3 years' nursing experience in the care of older persons within the previous 6 years.
  • At least 3 years' management experience within a health or social care setting.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to obtain Garda Clearance and provide satisfactory professional references.
  • Must hold EU/EEA citizenship or have an unrestricted right to work in Ireland.
  • A postgraduate qualification, or willingness to undertake further study, in areas such as Nursing Management, Gerontology, Healthcare Leadership, or Healthcare Management is desirable.
  • Post-registration qualification in Dementia Care and/or Gerontology is highly desirable.
