Cpl Healthcare is partnering with a highly regarded nursing home group to recruit a Director of Nursing for a well-established care centre in Ferbane, Co. Offaly.
This 61-bed, purpose-built facility is part of a boutique nursing home group and is set within beautiful woodland gardens in the heart of Ferbane town. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a supportive and quality-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be supported by both the Clinical Director and the Director of Quality and Safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Governance
- Provide strong leadership and governance across all aspects of the care centre
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to residents and their families
- Maintain full compliance with HIQA regulations and standards
- Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
Clinical & Operational Oversight
- Oversee care delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Ensure effective communication with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders
- Monitor and support ongoing operations within the care centre
Management
- Act as Person-in-Charge in accordance with the Health Act 2007 and HIQA standards
- Lead, manage, and develop the team, supported by the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
- Support staff training, development, and performance management
- Implement and review policies and procedures in line with current guidelines
- Manage risk, health & safety, complaints, and incident reporting
- Foster a positive working environment with open communication and strong team engagement
- Liaise with external agencies as required
- Registered General Nurse with NMBI
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in care of older persons within the last 6 years
- At least 3 years' management experience
- Level 8 qualification in Management (or equivalent)
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Strong knowledge of ageing, clinical care, and best practices in elder care
- In-depth understanding of HIQA standards, the Health Act, and relevant legislation
