Job Description:Purpose of the role
To optimise the bank's capital structure to support its growth objectives, manage risk exposure, and comply with regulatory requirements by analyzing the bank's capital position, developing capital allocation strategies, and ensuring that the bank maintains adequate capital levels under various economic scenarios.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of strategies to manage the bank's capital position, including setting of capital targets, development of capital plans, and monitoring of capital adequacy.
- Optimisation of the bank's capital structure to support growth and profitability, including management of regulatory capital requirements.
- Allocation of capital to business units and projects based on risk-adjusted returns and other financial metrics.
- Preparation and provision of regular reports on the bank's capital position, capital allocation decisions, and stress testing results to senior colleagues, risk committees, and regulatory authorities, along with effective communication of capital management strategies and risk considerations to relevant stakeholders.

- Manage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policy development, and managing critical projects.
- Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance culture aligned with business values, or lead organization-wide projects as a technical expert and thought leader.
- Provide expert advice to senior management and committees to influence decisions beyond own function.

- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and monitor external environment and regulatory developments.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the function's integration with the business division to achieve objectives.
- Maintain current sector and functional knowledge, and apply advanced analytical skills to solve complex problems.
- Make strategic decisions within own area, influence stakeholders, and act as a principal contact for key clients.
- Represent the function and business division publicly.
