Role Description An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bank of America's Digital Asset Transformation capability within the International and Global Enterprise Strategy & Platform groups. Digital assets are reshaping financial markets, payments, custody, settlement, collateral and client solutions. As the ecosystem develops beyond cryptocurrency into broader financial market infrastructure, the firm is strengthening its capability to identify commercial opportunities, respond to regulatory developments and deliver scalable business outcomes. We are seeking a commercially minded Digital Asset Transformation Director to shape and drive strategic digital asset initiatives within a global regulated banking environment. The role will assess opportunities across tokenisation, digital securities, stablecoins, digital collateral, custody, settlement and market infrastructure, translating them into clear investment recommendations, business cases, governance proposals, operating models and implementation plans. This is a senior transformation role extending beyond traditional project management. The successful candidate will bring deep digital asset expertise, strong commercial and strategic judgement, a practical understanding of distributed ledger technology and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and organisational requirements. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the Digital Asset Platform group and the wider organisation, the Director will lead initiatives from initial assessment through governance, approval and execution. They will partner across business, product, technology, operations, legal, compliance, risk and finance to evaluate where the firm should invest, establish scalable approaches and deliver measurable business outcomes. The role would suit an experienced strategy, COO, regulatory change, product structuring or transformation leader with significant digital asset experience and a strong track record of turning complex or emerging opportunities into practical, commercially sound solutions.
The Team The Digital Asset Transformation team sits within the International and Global Enterprise Strategy & Platform groups and leads high-priority digital asset initiatives across the firm. The team operates at the intersection of: Digital asset strategy and commercial opportunity assessment Regulatory engagement and market development Product, platform and capability structuring Governance and implementation Initial priorities span institutional digital assets and emerging financial market infrastructure. The team's remit will continue to evolve in line with market developments and the firm's strategic priorities. The team connects strategy, commercial opportunity, regulatory requirements and enterprise execution to support informed investment decisions and scalable delivery. The team brings together stakeholders across the organisation to deliver practical, scalable and commercially grounded outcomes within a regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities As Director, Digital Asset Transformation, responsibilities may include: Lead priority digital asset initiatives from initial assessment through approval, implementation and launch.
Evaluate opportunities across tokenisation, digital securities, stablecoins, digital collateral, custody, settlement and emerging market infrastructure.
Develop investment recommendations, business cases and materials for senior management decision-making.
Translate market, regulatory and technology developments into business priorities and executable plans.
Define client value, commercial rationale, delivery requirements and success measures with business leaders.
Build alignment and drive decisions across business, product, technology, operations and corporate functions.
Lead regulatory, governance and control processes, maintaining robust documentation and clear audit trails.
Manage delivery through effective oversight of milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and key decisions.
Shape scalable operating models, including processes, controls, accountabilities and implementation readiness.
Direct cross-functional workstreams and ensure initiatives are commercially viable, operationally practical and aligned across regions.
What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will bring deep digital asset knowledge, strong commercial judgement and a proven ability to lead complex transformation within a regulated financial services environment. Key experience and capabilities include: Significant financial services experience gained within strategy, business management, a COO, regulatory change, transformation, product structuring or enterprise programme leadership. Meaningful experience delivering initiatives across digital assets, tokenisation, digital securities, distributed ledger technology, digital custody or related financial market infrastructure. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate opportunities, develop business cases and connect strategy to measurable business outcomes. Strong understanding of regulated banking environments, including governance, risk, controls and operational requirements. Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving business, product, technology, operations, legal, compliance and risk. Experience interpreting regulatory developments and translating them into business impacts, strategic options and executable plans. Strong senior stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to constructively challenge and build alignment across business and control functions. Experience developing target operating models, implementation roadmaps, control frameworks, governance proposals and senior management materials. Strategic thinking and sound judgement, with the ability to connect priorities across businesses and regions and find practical solutions in evolving or ambiguous areas.
