Salary: Grade 6, £34,350 - £37,968 per annum, pro-rata. Appointments will normally be made to the first point of the grade.

The College has held this top position in Performing Arts for four consecutive years, with Music being a new subject in the ranking since 2024.
The Royal College of Music Museum manages a Designated collection of approximately 14,000 objects documenting the history and performance of music through musical instruments, paintings, sculptures, early prints, and drawings. It is fully accredited and has received the Research England 'Higher Education Museums, Galleries and Collections Fund'. The Wolfson Centre in Music and Material Culture supports research and access to the collections, collaborating with national and international partners on projects related to musical heritage, including innovative methods and technologies for documenting, interpreting, and disseminating material musical heritage.
The Museum Digital Heritage & Technology Officer is responsible for maintaining and expanding the digital engagement, preservation, outreach, and resources of the RCM Museum. They will develop the Museum's digital profile through existing and new platforms and initiatives, working with partnerships across teams and institutions. This includes overseeing the effectiveness of Collection Management and Digital Asset Management Software, digitizing collections, updating records, and enhancing the online catalogue and aggregators.
The successful candidate will be passionate about music, music heritage, and digital heritage. They will deliver, refine, and communicate the Museum's digital strategy and digitization plan in line with ACE Accreditation standards and the Museum Digital Preservation Strategy. They will work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and proactively report on digital engagement and collection care.
The Digital Heritage & Technology Officer also supports creating digital content with the Museum and RCM Marcomms team, exploring innovations such as 3D modeling and digital preservation. They will maintain and develop digital resources on-site and online, supporting digital initiatives like conferences and workshops.
We are seeking candidates with:
- A strong interest in music, musical heritage, museums, and collections care.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Digital Humanities, Heritage, or related fields.
- Experience managing Collection Management Systems, digital asset management, and digital content creation, with awareness of trends and innovations in museum digital resources.
- An efficient, proactive individual capable of problem-solving and effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams.
- A highly organized person with excellent communication skills, capable of delivering high-standard results, managing projects independently, and working collaboratively.
