Role Overview

The Digital Project Leader will drive the Broughton digitalisation transformation with a focus on AI and ML tool development. Responsibilities include seeking, defining, developing, and deploying digital capabilities to improve processes and deliver measurable productivity gains across plant production lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full AI project lifecycle from ideation to industrialisation and deployment across core plant areas.
• Ensure alignment with the central digital strategy and achieve annual digitalisation route map milestones.
• Oversee design and deployment of machine learning models and AI agents on GCP/Vertex AI.
• Map complex manufacturing data flows to build AI ready architectures and advance data analytics and MLOps.
• Build partnerships with plant customers, executive stakeholders, and external suppliers to co develop scaling solutions.
• Support the business through legacy Microsoft decommissioning and champion adoption of Google Workspace toolsets.
• Direct project governance ensuring AI tools comply with Responsible AI principles, EU AI Act, and cyber security frameworks.
• Proactively mitigate operational risks and manage project finances (CAPEX, OPEX, RC, NRC).

Qualifications

• Proven track record in project management, organisation, and planning.
• Experience managing or leading projects involving Google Cloud Platform services (Vertex AI, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, API management) and deployment of production grade AI/ML models.
• Strong understanding of MLOps principles, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud cost optimisation.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL and data visualization techniques to map data pipelines or communicate technical insights to non technical stakeholders.
• Strong data literacy and ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, EU AI Act compliance, and cyber security best practices.
