Job Description
We have an incredible network of local groups who support people in their local community living with diabetes. Our groups rely on having people to help them complete their work in a variety of different ways, be it helping to run a raffle at a meeting or helping organise promotion for the group in their local area. This role is flexible and varies between each group, however committee members are essential to helping the group run smoothly.
What you will be doing- Working with the rest of the committee to plan and coordinate the group's activities
- Support the group to run events and hold meetings in the local area
- Help to plan and identify new opportunities for the group
- Help out at group meetings, for example welcoming people or helping to serve refreshments
- Identify new places for the group to advertise
- Help to run awareness stalls across the local area to raise the profile of the group and Diabetes UK
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication and listening skills
- The ability to motivate others and involve them in the work of the group
- The opportunity to be part of reaching and supporting more people living with diabetes
- Induction and training
- Regular communication with Diabetes UK point of contact
- Opportunity to meet and network with other volunteers
- The opportunity to learn new skills
