Job Description

Dexcom Athenry are now welcoming applications across Technician1-3 levels for our Weekend Day Shift.

Weekend Day Shift Pattern

12 hour day shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off - 3-on/4-off schedule.

Meet the Team

Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technicians will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in
  • You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions.
  • You will test performance of electro mechanical assemblies, using test equipment.
  • You will have experience with pneumatics, electromechanical systems, PLCs, robotic systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • You will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation.
  • You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
  • You will follow Dexcom's Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.
  • You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
  • You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
  • You will update equipment related documentation (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.
What makes you successful
  • Typically requires a Level6/7 qualification and a minimum of 0 2 years related experience (Technician1), 2 4 years of related experience (Technician2), and 4 6 years of related experience (Technician3).
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC and automated production/process equipment, pneumatics, electro mechanical systems and packaging equipment highly desirable.
  • Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
  • Proven ability to work hands on in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.
