Department Overview As a DevSecOps Engineer at CRFS, you will be the bridge between our high-frequency engineering teams and our production environments. You will be responsible for automating security at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that our spectrum monitoring and geolocation platforms are resilient, scalable, and secure against modern threats. Job Description Job Title: DevSecOps Engineer Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid options usually available) Company: CRFS Limited Clearance: Ability to obtain UK SC Clearance required Role Overview As a DevSecOps Engineer at CRFS, you will be the bridge between our high-frequency engineering teams and our production environments. You will be responsible for automating security at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that our spectrum monitoring and geolocation platforms are resilient, scalable, and secure against modern threats. Key Responsibilities Pipeline Automation: Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to automate the testing and deployment of software. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Manage and provision cloud and on-premise infrastructure securely. Security Integration: Implement and manage automated security scanning toolsand dependency vulnerability scanning. Cloud Governance: Monitor and optimize our cloud presence (AWS), ensuring least-privilege access through robust IAM policies and secret management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault). Compliance & Monitoring: Develop real-time monitoring and alerting for infrastructure health and security incidents. Collaboration: Work closely with software developers to promote a "shift-left" security culture, providing them with the tools and training to write secure code from day one. Basic Requirements Required Skills & Experience Experience: 3+ years in a DevOps or Security-focused engineering role. Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS (preferred) or Azure, specifically around VPCs, EC2, EKS, and Lambda. Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python , Bash , or PowerShell for automation tasks. Containerization: Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), including securing container images and orchestrating deployments. Networking: A solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IPv4/v6, routing, firewalls, and VPNs). Security Mindset: Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., OWASP, NIST) and threat modeling. Desirable Qualifications Linux Mastery: Deep knowledge of Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS).
