Salary:£49,004 - £57,728 anda range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll join an agile team focused on digitising SSE Energy Markets. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our Azure cloud services. Your expertise in automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines will be key to driving our advanced analytics initiatives forward.

You Will
  • Design and manage end-to-end Azure solutions (including App Services, Compute, Networking, Databricks, Data Factory and Function Apps using Terraform, ensuring they are optimised, secure, and follow best practices.
  • Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions to automate infrastructure releases. Enable development teams by engineering and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid and reliable delivery of their projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement by automating tasks, optimising infrastructure, embedding security best practices, and maintaining clear documentation. You'll also participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems.
You Have
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or cloud infrastructure role, with strong hands on skills in Azure services and using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • A solid understanding of CI/CD principles and practical experience with tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, alongside knowledge of agile delivery and release management.
  • Strong scripting skills for automation in a language such as Python, PowerShell, Bash. Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Splunk).
  • Experience configuring and supporting IBM Analytics solutions (TM1, Stream Sets, Planning Analytics) is desirable.
