Development Specialist

We are looking for a Development Specialist to join the National Trust. This is a permanent, part time role 22.5 hours per week. You'll help our leadership teams to build the right capability and confidence to enable the successful delivery of our ambitious plans.

Your contractual location will be at one of our hubs - this role has a link to the Midlands and East of England region, and there will be an expectation for you to attend regional locations. However, there is flexibility on where you're based at other times. You'll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
You'll be focused on building the confidence and capability of our people to achieve our strategic ambitions. The role is a combination of organisation wide and central office support.
You'll be delivering our core leadership and management development offer in virtual classrooms or at the places we look after. Diagnosing and designing impactful interventions will also feature. Your coaching and facilitation skills will be put to full use in a variety of contexts using a broad range of resources.

Who we're looking for

- experience supporting learning or development activities
- understanding of identifying development needs and creating simple learning solutions
- awareness of adult learning principles
- experience in facilitating or delivering content
- ability to organise workload and manage multiple tasks
- clear written and verbal communication skills
Criteria for all other applicants:
- the ability to design high quality blended learning across all delivery methods, including facilitated, digital, e-learning, virtual classrooms, face to face
- knowledge and experience in training needs analysis, design, delivery, implementation and evaluation
- knowledge of adult learning theory and concepts
- knowledge of facilitation and training delivery methods across a range of subjects including leadership and management skills development
- Project Management skills with a capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail
