Reporting To

Despatch Supervisor

Responsible For

Health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and anyone else on site; maintaining food safety and quality standards; efficient completion of all dispatch tasks on shift.

Job Purpose

To ensure all finished goods cases are delivered on time and in full to customers by picking the correct SKUs to the correct depots as per process and picking sheets.

Accountabilities Safety
  • Ensure work within all health and safety laws, guidelines, procedures and training.
  • Maintain good housekeeping of your area using 'clean as you go'.
  • Report hazards and near misses immediately through the K2 reporting system or to line manager.
  • Ensure product is food safe by conducting all required compliance checks and raising non-conformances when required - product temperature checks.
  • Ensure all paperwork completed is legible and organized ready to be audited.
Quality
  • Ensure all cases picked are to the appropriate standard - formed well, closed and no damage. Report to your supervisor if issues found.
  • Responsible for brand integrity by ensuring all checks are completed as per training.
Cost
  • Complete work as efficiently as possible to reduce overall production cost.
  • Report any issues affecting production efficiency to direct line manager.
Delivery
  • Help ensure 100% service on time and in full.
  • Communicate with site security and wagon drivers to ensure material is loaded as per load plans.
  • Liaise with factory operations teams regarding product run completion times.
People
  • Ensure awareness of working hours so as not to breach WTD - hours in 7 days, 11 hour rest period, 1 day off in 7 or 2 days off in 14.
  • Support new trainees by shadowing them and showing them correct procedures.
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience
  • Excellent spoken and written English and ability to write legibly for audit purposes.
  • Ability to check a lot of information accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent numeracy and planning skills.
  • P.C. literate and capable of learning in-house booking systems and procedures.
Performance Expectation

Complete work accurately while meeting production efficiency targets.

Flexible to support business needs by committing to overtime when given appropriate notice.
