PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Design Engineer to work in our Glasgow office.

We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Design Engineer to join our growing structural team.

Job Description:

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the structural design and analysis of a variety of building and civil engineering projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design work, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.

Candidate Specification:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a design office environment.
  • Ambitious, career focused and committed to achieving chartership status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles & codes of practice to solve technical problems using a variety of structural materials including concrete, steel, masonry and timber.
  • Significant base of IT skills to include word, excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Proven ability to effectively use structural design software such as CADS, Tekla, SCIA, STRAP, TEDDS, Fastrack AUTO CAD, REVIT or other design software
  • Good working knowledge of UK design codes and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process including NEC Contracts.
  • Commitment to CPD and competence.
  • A proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
