Design Manager

Your new company
You will be joining a well-established main contractor delivering a range of construction projects across East Anglia. Based from the Ipswich head office, you will be working within a team delivering Department for Education projects, including both school refurbishments and new-build schemes across the region.

Your new role
As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery. You will work closely with operational teams, consultants, architects and subcontractors to ensure designs are coordinated, buildable and delivered in line with programme requirements. The role will be primarily office-based in Ipswich, with occasional travel to sites across East Anglia.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need a strong construction background with previous Design Management experience. Experience delivering both refurbishment and new-build projects is important, ideally within schools, education or the wider public sector. You will have a good understanding of construction methodology and buildability, alongside strong design coordination and communication skills.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary in the region of £50,000 to £80,000, dependent on experience, alongside a benefits package. There is flexibility around salary for the right individual, with experience and suitability being the key consideration.
