Job Description

Design Integrator - Airbus, Broughton

Location: Broughton (on-site)

Hours: 35 hours/week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)

Rate: Up to £46.00/hr PAYE (Design Engineer) Up to £52/hr Umbrella (Design Approver)

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (handled by Airbus Security)

IR35 Status: Inside

️ About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and technically skilled Design Integrator to join the Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET) at Airbus in Broughton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the A330 and A350 programmes, supporting build and non-conformance activities and driving design improvements across wide-body aircraft components.

You'll be the vital link between engineering and operations-ensuring design solutions are not only technically sound but also industrially viable and customer-focused. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring solutions are right first time.
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to resolve non-conformances and improve product quality.
  • Drive co-design initiatives with Manufacturing Engineering to enhance buildability.
  • Prioritise engineering responses to operational issues and manage supplier deliverables.
  • Identify and implement design changes that reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Champion a "design for build" ethos across the team and wider stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong design engineer with project management experience.
  • Excellent communicator and networker-able to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • A natural problem-solver with a sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Able to anticipate risks and opportunities and act decisively.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Aviation or manufacturing industry background preferred.
