Design Engineer (R&D, Sheet Metal Fabrication) 4 day week

Based in the Ballymena area my client is a leading sheet metal manufacturing company who are one of the market leaders in their field within the UK and Ireland.

Due to growth, they are seeking to recruit a Design Engineer who has at least 2 years' mechanical design experience and who is "hands on" with the shop / production floor. On offer is a salary of £35,000 - £45,000, a 4 day week (Mon -Thurs), pension, sick pay and a discretionary bonus. Role - Design Engineer

• Prototyping and development activities for new and existing product lines
• Daily production support and is liaising with customers and suppliers to assist with both daily production and development activities.
• Development of new and existing products from concept to market ready.
• The position will involve working closely with engineers and the wider manufacturing team in a hands-on environment.
• Support production by producing technical drawings, developing processes, ensuring designs meet industry standards and assist in the manufacture of prototypes.
• Opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and experience of advanced CNC punching and press brake technology, contributing to the continuous improvement of their manufacturing capabilities.

Person - Design Engineer

• HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification with at least 2 years experience years' experience working as a Design Engineer within a sheet metal fabrication / manufacturing environment
• Proficient in the use of 3D Solid modelling software
