Design & Technology Teacher - Leeds

Overview

Justteachers are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through creative, practical learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress in line with school policies
• Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment
• Inspire creativity and innovation through practical and theoretical teaching
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school expectations
• Provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues
• Support extracurricular activities related to Design Technology and/or Art

Pre-requisites

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred for DT Teacher role)
• Experience teaching Design Technology and/or Art in a school setting
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
• For Cover Teachers: proven experience covering lessons, ideally with an Art specialism
• A passion for education and supporting student development
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
