As a Pastoral Manager, you will lead your team to meet the emotional needs of our young people, who often have challenging emotional and behavioral needs such as ASD, SEMH, or BESD. You will ensure they receive high standards of care by working with families and developing tailored programs for each individual, creating a positive environment where every young person can thrive.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in educational or care settings, understanding their developmental needs and the importance of pastoral care. You should be a good listener, motivating your team and inspiring young people to achieve. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and team management experience are essential.

Bring your whole-self to work

Our diverse workforce reflects the backgrounds of our young people. To connect effectively with our pupils, you should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with ASC, ADHD, or SEMH pupils and working with families in challenging circumstances
  • Experience in multi-agency work, with knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • NVQ Level 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Leadership qualifications are preferred
  • Experience in staff appraisal, performance management, and supervision
