Job Title: Deputy Manager - Children's Home

Location: Dover, Kent, South East England

Salary: £44,907 per annum + £1,000 Bonus, and up to £2,080 Allowance

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (minimum 37.5 hours per week)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our outstanding children's residential care team in Dover, Kent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the management of a well-regarded children's home, contributing to the development and wellbeing of young people in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Registered Manager in the operational management of the children's home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
• Overseeing the development of staff and young people, including formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments, and positive handling strategies.
• Leading the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care aligned with the organisation's therapeutic ethos.
• Ensuring safeguarding policies are followed and all incidents are reported in line with local authority procedures.
• Supporting staff supervision, training, and performance management to promote a motivated and skilled team.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Services or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience working as a senior member of staff within a children's residential care setting.
• Knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• A current Enhanced DBS Check and a valid UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• A resilient, approachable, and motivated attitude, with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
