Job Title: Deputy Care Manager - Children's EBD

Location: Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Salary: £33,960.60 per annum + additional payments for sleep-ins and overtime hours

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Care Manager to join our children's home in Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role offers a flexible Monday to Friday schedule, supporting up to four young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a homely, semi-rural environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational policies.
  • Deputising in the manager's absence and supporting staff to deliver high-quality care.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to the needs of young people.
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external agencies to support young people's needs.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Essential Qualification: QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Required Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Shift Leader within a residential setting.
  • Mandatory Compliance: Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Additional Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, basic IT skills, and flexibility in working hours.
  • Desirable: Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care, registration with Social Care Wales, experience working with children, and Welsh language skills.
