This specialist school caters for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of Autism, SEND and associated needs, and offers the chance to make a genuine difference every day while helping shape the future direction of a highly ambitious school.
We are looking for a compassionate, dynamic leader with previous experience in a SEND setting (or resource base) to join a team that always put the needs of the children first. As a Deputy Headteacher you will be working closely with a wonderful Headteacher and a committed Executive Head to ensure that every child has access to the outstanding education that they deserve. .

About the Role
As Deputy Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement, strengthen teaching and learning, and create an environment where pupils and staff can thrive.
You will play a key strategic role in:
  • Leading whole-school teaching and learning initiatives
  • Developing an ambitious and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners
  • Raising standards and improving pupil outcomes
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing staff at all levels
  • Monitoring quality of education through robust quality assurance systems
  • Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and attendance across the school
  • Building positive relationships with families, external agencies and community partners
  • Contributing to the school's long-term strategic vision and growth
This position offers significant leadership responsibility and is ideal for an experienced DHT or an ambitious AHT looking to further develop their career within specialist education.

Who We're Looking For
You may already be a Deputy Headteacher seeking a new challenge, or an experienced Assistant Headteacher ready to take the next step.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A successful track record of leadership and school improvement
  • Strong knowledge of SEND, inclusion and adaptive teaching strategies
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong operational leadership
Experience within specialist education, SEND, SEMH or alternative provision settings would be advantageous.
