The Headteacher and Governing Body of Llandaff City Church in Wales Primary School wish to appoint a permanent Deputy Headteacher to start in September 2026.
OVERVIEW:
Due to the promotion of the Deputy Headteacher, the Governors wish to appoint a highly motivated and skilled professional who is committed to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of school life. The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Headteacher in enhancing, inspiring and embodying the Christian ethos and culture of this successful school. This role includes a teaching commitment and the successful candidate must also be an excellent practitioner and hold high expectations of what all pupils can achieve.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Support the Headteacher in the delivery of the school vision;
- Demonstrate the ability to support the development of a distinctive Christian character of a Church in Wales School.
- Lead the school in the absence of the Headteacher; Be an enthusiastic, inspirational, innovative leader with proven teaching and leadership skills; Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills; Be committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement; Be active in maintaining and developing the partnerships between pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider community;
- Work closely with AoLE Leads to enrich and improve curriculum planning across all subjects and year groups.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have a full understanding of processes involving safeguarding and child protection and be committed to working in partnership;
- Be committed to embracing the Christian ethos of a Church in Wales school;
- Have good understanding of ALN and a positive approach to behaviour management
- Have an innovative and creative approach to all aspects of school life;
- Be committed to high standards of teaching and learning and the professional development of staff;
- Have high expectations that motivate, support and challenge teachers and pupils alike;
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; Have excellent IT skills.
