Job Description
Deputy Head of Dealing

Department: Investment Management

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: London

Reporting To: Richard Symes


Description Assisting with the efficient running of the dealing department and dealing process and for suggesting and implementing improvements to the above. Deputising for the Head of Dealing when required.
Key Responsibilities Dealing
  • Dealing as required
  • Dissemination as appropriate of market information and prices to Investment Managers
Dealing Administration
  • Attendance of quarterly Meeting of Dealing Committee
  • Review and make recommendations on Dealing Procedures
  • Deputise for Head of Dealing in meetings when required
  • Ensure that other dealers are compliant with the Dealing Procedures
  • Provide advice and assistance for other dealers
  • Responsibility for resolving at higher level dealing queries with the market
  • Ensuring timely execution of trades
  • Assist with monitoring for evidence of best execution and execution quality
  • Responsibility for counterparty risk limits in the absence of the Head of Dealing
Compliance
  • Work within the Regulatory and the Firm's compliance framework
  • Maintain own professional competence through a programme of CPD
  • Liaise with Compliance department on any relevant dealing issues
Business development
  • Develop initiatives to widen the Firm's contacts for sources of new business and new markets
  • Review methods of dealing on an ongoing basis
  • Aiding with refining of Order Management system
People management
  • Assist in monitoring the overall performance and development of staff in the team
  • Notify the Head of Dealing of any issues impacting the performance of the team
Business strategy
  • Provide input into the business strategy of the Firm
Personal Conduct
  • Ensure that the firm's clients and staff are always treated fairly and responsibly, with respect and consideration.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Registered Representatives Qualification 7 to 10 year's relevant experience Analytical and numerate Well organised Customer facing Good written and verbal communication skills Computer literate
