Deputy Digital Procurement Manager
Location: Newport, South Wales (Fully On-Site)
Contract: 15-Month Fixed-Term
Salary: £35,000-£40,000

Viqu is partnering with a prominent public sector organisation based in Newport, South Wales, to recruit a Deputy Digital Procurement Manager on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This role is essential to support a busy digital procurement team during a period of increased activity and upcoming maternity cover, focusing on the delivery of a high volume of complex ICT contracts.

Role Overview:
You will lead complex ICT procurement exercises and contract negotiations, managing large-value digital contracts within established frameworks. The role requires strong supplier management skills and the ability to deputise for the Digital Procurement Manager, while mentoring junior colleagues. You will work fully on-site, driving the delivery of 40-45 major digital procurement contracts by March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex ICT procurement exercises, including contract negotiation and review of terms and conditions.

  • Manage procurement activities within frameworks such as HealthTrust Europe, Sell2Wales, and Cell2Wales.

  • Deputise for the Digital Procurement Manager and provide guidance to junior team members.

  • Ensure timely delivery of multiple large-scale contracts in line with organisational requirements.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience managing large or complex procurement contracts, especially related to telephony systems, shared services, or digital equipment.

  • Strong understanding of procurement governance, supplier negotiations, and contract management processes.

  • Comfortable operating in a middle-ground role between buying and contract management.

  • Familiarity with ERP tools such as Oracle is desirable.

Desirable Experience:

  • Public sector procurement experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience working within national procurement frameworks.

  • This is a fully on-site role based in Newport, South Wales.

  • Salary range: £35,000-£40,000.

  • 15-month fixed-term contract.
