Job Description
Deputy Course Manager - Tullamore Golf Club

Tullamore Golf Club is seeking a Deputy Course Manager who will work directly with the Golf Course Manager to maintain the club's golf course to the highest standards of quality and presentation. The role involves leading a dedicated greenkeeping team in day to day operations, planning long term budgets, and ensuring the club upholds its reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with overseeing daily operations of the golf course.
  • Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers.
  • Assist in the programme, repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Assist in the supervision and application of plant protection products and fertiliser.
  • Assist with training and development of greenkeeping team.
  • Assist with formulating and implementing annual course renovation projects.
  • Assist with compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in establishing, promoting and enforcing safety practices in accordance with company and legislative guidelines.
  • Deputise for the Course Manager in his absence.
  • Continue own educational development and remain knowledgeable of latest industry practices and trends.
  • Maintain a good standard of record keeping as directed by the Golf Course Manager.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours which may include working unsociable hours and weekend work on a rota basis.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum five years' experience in golf course maintenance with time spent in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Level 6 FETAC turf management certificate or equivalent.
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates.
  • Chainsaw certificate an advantage.
  • Basic first aid, defibrillation training if possible.
  • In depth knowledge of turf management practices, irrigation systems and course maintenance equipment.
  • Energetic and diligent worker that can demonstrate high levels of attention to detail.
  • Excellent management and communication skills including well developed IT skills.
