Location: Blackwood Salary: £14,285.70 Hours: 22.5 per week over 3 days between Monday & Saturday. Contract: Permanent

We looking for a proactive, friendly and organised Deputy Charity Shop Manager to support the running of our Blackwood shop. You'll help create a welcoming, vibrant retail space that drives income, builds community and supports the vital rescue and rehabilitation of dogs who deserve a second chance.

What you'll be doing

As our Deputy Manager, you will:

Support the Manager with the day-to-day running of the Blackwood shop.

Provide hands on leadership to volunteers, helping them feel confident, motivated and valued.

Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome.

Assist with stock processing, pricing, rotation and merchandising to maximise sales.

Help ensure the shop is clean, safe and compliant with all Hope Rescue procedures.

Take responsibility for opening/closing the shop and supervising shifts when the Manager is off site.

Support accurate cash handling, daily banking and administrative tasks.

Build strong local relationships to encourage donations, footfall and community engagement.

What we're looking for

You'll thrive in this role if you are:

Experienced in retail (charity retail experience is a bonus but not essential).

A natural people person who enjoys leading and supporting volunteers.

Positive, reliable and able to take initiative when needed.

Organised, adaptable and confident managing busy periods.

Comfortable using tills/EPOS and basic IT systems.

Passionate about charity work and aligned with Hope Rescue's mission to save dogs in need.
