Department Head - Structural

At Optimus Plus, we're redefining what's possible in energy and offshore engineering. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Department Head - Structural to lead our structural discipline with energy, expertise, and vision.

This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for ensuring the competence, capability, and smooth delivery of all structural engineering projects. You'll play a vital part in how we deliver for our clients and develop our people-while helping us drive innovation across sectors.

As Department Head - Structural, you will:

Be a key figure in maintaining and growing strong client relationships.

Contribute discipline expertise to bids, tenders, and CTRs.

Support marketing and maintain the strong reputation of Optimus Plus.

Act as the contract focal point for our Structural Integrity services.

Oversee and approve structural designs, ensuring compliance and quality.

Allocate work efficiently, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery.

Uphold competence standards and support continual team development.

Manage discipline budgets through our time-writing system.

Handle commercial variations and change control.

Liaise with clients on billing and performance issues.

Report on commercial and operational performance at senior level.

Degree in an Engineering discipline (BSc or equivalent).

Chartered Engineer status (preferred).

Extensive experience in detailed design and engineering approval.

Strong understanding of Autodesk design tools and MS Office.

Thorough knowledge of Oil & Gas codes and standards.

Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
