Dental Foundation Training Programme Director

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator to join the Dental Foundation Training Faculty within Yorkshire and the Humber, as a Training Programme Director. The role is 2PAs per week.
The post holder will have experience of, and commitment to, postgraduate dental education and the delivery of high quality education and training.
The post holder will work with the Associate Dental Dean, in planning and delivering the Dental Foundation Training within the region.They will be responsible for a scheme of Foundation Dentists and supporting their development throughout Foundation Training.
The post holder must hold current registration with the GDC as a Dentist.
The role will require some travel across Yorkshire and the Humber, to attend meetings and educational events.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of this role include:
- Recruitment totraining postsand programmes
- Postgraduateprogramme management, including assessments,progression,support and remediation,careers support,less than full-time trainingand otherrelated work-streams.
- To assist the Associate Dental Dean and Postgraduate Dean in the early identification of trainees requiring additional support through local monitoring, escalation as required and referral to appropriate services.
- To develop educational programmes where needed to support achievement of curriculum competencies, engaging with commissioning processes as required.
- Recruitment and quality assurance of training practices
- To identify learning needs and support provision of educational appraisal, educator development and resource for faculty,traineesand learners.

Person Specification Qualifications- Primary clinical healthcare qualification
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
- Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development (example: educator courses, Train the trainer, etc)
- Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
- Knowledge of the NHS, its structures and processes, including an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
- Skills for managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders
- Strategic thinking - ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise
- Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others. Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals
- Values diversity and difference operates with integrity and openness
- Actively develops themselves and supports others to do the same
- Commitment to and focused on quality, promotes high standards in all they do
