Delivery Suite Co-ordinator

Are you an experienced midwife ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We are seeking highly motivated Band 7 Delivery Suite Co ordinators to join our dynamic maternity service and play a pivotal role in supporting safe, high quality care for women and their families.

As a Delivery Suite Co ordinator, you will provide visible leadership, supervision and management to midwives, nurses, students and clinical support workers. You will lead by example, uphold the highest clinical standards, and foster a culture that prioritises patient safety, teamwork and innovation.

  • Are already working at an advanced clinical level with a broad range of midwifery skills.
  • Have the ability to lead and support junior staff, ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality, compassionate care.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff groups and demonstrate confidence in decision making during busy and complex situations.
  • Possess a strong ethos around clinical excellence, patient safety and continuous improvement.

This role is an ideal opportunity for those looking to develop their leadership, management and operational skills. The post is a secondment until May 2027 and September 2027 to cover maternity leave and a secondment to HEIW.

Provide leadership, supervision and management to midwives, nurses, students and clinical support workers within a busy and dynamic clinical environment. Champion the diversity of the women and families we serve, uphold high clinical standards and actively contribute to improving patient safety. Bring a spirit of innovation and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • BSC or above
  • Evidence of post registration learning
  • Recognised leadership course
Skills
  • Clinically competent midwife in all areas
  • Advanced communication/interpersonal skills
  • Assessment, analysis, judgement and decision making when faced with clinical and non clinical crises such as obstetric emergency or aggressive behaviour
  • Flexible approach to work and able to respond to unpredicted or adverse situations, adapting to changing priorities at pace
  • Previous evidence of operational management
Experience
  • Substantial clinical experience
  • Previous experience of managing staff
Special Knowledge
  • Highly developed clinical skills including the recognition of abnormality and complications whilst caring for women or babies: basic life support of adults and the neonate, cannulation and suturing of the perineum
