The RoleThis Delivery Lead role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of SMART and regulatory change within the Industry & Regulation platform, ensuring all regulatory obligations are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed market timelines, while operating within Agile ways of working.
This role is critical to protecting the business from regulatory non compliance, financial penalties and operational risk, while enabling the delivery of SMART capabilities such as Dynamic Tariffs, PAYG, Smart Meter integration, industry flows and market change.
The role requires a Delivery Lead who is comfortable operating in high governance, audit heavy environments, balancing Agile delivery with firm regulatory guardrails, evidence requirements and external dependencies.
You Will- Lead end to end delivery of SMART and regulatory change within the Industry & Regulation platform, ensuring all commitments are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with regulatory and market deadlines. Build and maintain stakeholder trust through transparent communication, proactive risk management and confident decision making.
- Own delivery across complex multi party ecosystems, coordinating internal teams, platforms, vendors and external industry bodies/programme consultants to actively manage dependencies, sequencing and delivery risk. Interpret incomplete or evolving regulatory guidance and translate into clear delivery assumptions, constraints and options rather than waiting for certainty.
- Drive vendor performance and commercial outcomes, ensuring delivery aligns to agreed scope, timelines, quality standards and contractual expectations in partnership with Product, Technical Product Owner, PMO and procurement.
- Embed Agile delivery within a strong governance framework, ensuring auditability, traceability and assurance requirements are met while adapting delivery approaches pragmatically to regulatory constraints. Provide clear, concise delivery reporting to senior stakeholders, focusing on delivery confidence, regulatory risk and readiness rather than activity alone.
- Own delivery governance, risk and reporting, proactively identifying and managing regulatory and operational risks, translating evolving regulatory guidance into clear delivery assumptions and providing concise, outcome focused updates on delivery confidence and readiness. Challenge assumptions and reframe delivery expectations where required, ensuring alignment with delivery constraints and regulatory timelines.
- Significant and proven experience as a Delivery Lead delivering complex technology change in a regulated environment, with accountability for end to end delivery outcomes.
- Significant hands on experience delivering SMART, energy market and energy regulatory change in highly regulated domains where compliance and deadlines are non negotiable.
- Strong capability managing cross team and cross platform dependencies, including internal teams, vendors and external industry or market participants.
- Experience operating within governance heavy delivery environments, balancing Agile delivery with audit, assurance and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex SMART and energy regulatory requirements into clear delivery plans and decisions.
