Delivery Director - North

Overview

We are recruiting for a Highways Delivery Director to join us here at Octavius. This role will be responsible for leading our teams in both the North East and North West regions in England.

At Octavius, we deliver safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions that connect communities across the UK. We're looking for an experienced leader to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the future of our highways portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of major highways projects from end to end, ensuring programmes run to time, budget, and the highest quality standards while driving safety, sustainability, and innovation.
• Build strong customer partnerships, ensuring operational excellence, and create high-performing teams that thrive under your direction.
• Collaborate across frameworks with customers such as National Highways and local authorities, influencing at both strategic and operational levels and representing Octavius in shaping the way vital infrastructure is delivered.

About you

You're a proven leader in highways or infrastructure delivery, with the confidence to manage complex portfolios and the vision to align operational delivery with long-term strategy. You combine commercial acumen with a collaborative approach, always keeping safety and quality at the heart of delivery.

You'll bring

• A track record of delivering large, complex highways or infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in financial management, risk control, and operational performance
• Proven ability to build lasting customer relationships at framework level
• Leadership qualities that inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Degree-level education or equivalent, with relevant professional certifications (APM, PRINCE2, IOSH/NEBOSH desirable)
