Defence Training Transformation Lead

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transformation Lead - Training to drive the modernisation, integration, and uplift of Defence training capabilities across Defence Digital programmes. This role is critical in ensuring Defence personnel are fully equipped to adopt and exploit new digital solutions, enhancing operational readiness and long-term capability.
You will lead digital learning strategy development, training needs analysis, and the transformation of training systems and processes, working with multiple Defence stakeholders to embed training as a core enabler of digital adoption.
Must be SC cleared.
Key Responsibilities Training Transformation & Strategy
- Lead the transformation of Defence training to support digital and data-enabled operations.
- Develop training transformation roadmaps covering policy, processes, digital learning tools, and workforce capability uplift.
- Align training plans with Defence Digital programmes and enterprise training strategies.
- Integrate training design with digital platforms and operational systems to deliver accessible learning experiences.
Training Needs Analysis & Development
- Conduct capability gap analysis, define training requirements, and create training materials.
- Work with delivery teams and end users to identify skill gaps and implement targeted training solutions.
- Oversee the design and delivery of blended learning (classroom, simulation, E-learning, on-the-job).
- Maintain and enhance digital learning artefacts to support long-term knowledge retention.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
- Collaborate with Defence, industry, and academic partners to develop modern, interoperable training solutions.
- Lead change management activities to support digital adoption.
- Champion user-centric training approaches to build confidence in new digital capabilities.
Governance & Assurance
- Establish governance structures to track training transformation progress and quality.
- Ensure compliance with Defence standards, learning assurance frameworks, and accreditation requirements.
- Support business case development, benefits tracking, and capability assurance processes.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and align training activities with delivery cycles.
- Work closely with product owners, service managers, user researchers, and designers to embed training throughout capability development.
- Foster a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading training transformation or learning modernisation in Defence, government, or large-scale digital/technical programmes.
- Strong understanding of training and education methodologies, including blended and digital learning.
- Hands-on experience conducting training needs analysis and developing capability-based learning solutions.
- Ability to design and implement training governance and assurance frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
