About the roleWe are seeking to appoint a highly motivated National Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) Service Lead who will be part of a team of Service Leads who are responsible for ensuring DBI service delivery is aligned with standard operating procedures.
The purpose of this role is to work closely with senior colleagues in Change Mental Health and with a wide range of statutory and third-sector agencies to ensure that the Distress Brief Intervention continues to deliver innovative service in a compassionate and connected way.
The work includes: ensuring a robust quality framework is in place to support the best practices, developing and maintaining partnerships, line management and overseeing the rota system, leading on the roll-out and expansion of DBI Services and supporting the team during out-of-hours times.
These positions require someone with experience in project management, positive leadership, managing and motivating a large team, effective communication with external and internal stakeholders and working autonomously.
Training in Level 1 and 2 Distress Brief Intervention, specific to the post, will be provided.
The post holders will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or update their membership record for regulated work with protected adults (The costs are met by the employer).
About the DBI projectChange Mental Health is the lead partner in Highland, Dumfries and Galloway and Argyll & Bute for the Scottish Government's Distress Brief Intervention project (DBI) . The DBI is a Scotland-wide project, testing a ground-breaking approach to addressing the emotional and psychological pain experienced by people in distress.
Working in partnership with frontline services, including Police, Ambulance service, Primary Care and mental health teams, the project provides rapid referral to focussed, short-term support, with the option of onward referral to longer-term support if required while working within the framework agreed upon with the Scottish Government and the DBI Programme Board.
