Data Steward Manager

12 Month FTC
(Hybrid - minimum 3 days in office)

A leading international law firm is seeking a Data Steward Manager to supervise and develop a team of Data Stewards responsible for maintaining high-quality client and matter data across the firm.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced data governance professional to step into a leadership role within a complex, professional services environment.

The Role

You will oversee a team responsible for cleansing and maintaining critical data used for compliance, billing, reporting and business development purposes. The objective is to drive data quality, consistency and governance standards across firmwide systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and managing the day-to-day workload of the Data Steward team

  • Ensuring service level commitments are consistently met

  • Implementing effective work scheduling, prioritisation and distribution processes

  • Working closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance and Business Development to resolve data quality issues

  • Reviewing and improving data processes to ensure best practice

  • Supporting merger activities relating to data alignment and consolidation

  • Contributing to team development, training and performance management

  • Promoting data governance standards and consistency across systems

About You

You will have:

  • Proven experience in data governance, data management or information governance

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills within a professional services or complex environment

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Experience managing or supervising a team

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (eg GDPR)

  • The ability to manage workloads effectively and deliver within fixed timeframes

Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.

Relevant certifications such as DAMA or CDMP are advantageous but not essential.

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday, 09:30 - 17:30

  • Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week in office)
