This is a *Lisbon* based role with an excellent immediate start within a global technology brand working on the development of an enterprise-scale internal chatbot platform built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Role Overview

We are hiring an AI/ML Data Scientist to support the development of an enterprise-scale internal chatbot platform built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on building machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and LLM solutions that enable employees across the organization to access insights and interact with internal knowledge using natural language.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited for someone with 4-6 years of applied experience in ML and NLP.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize NLP and LLM-based features for internal chatbot interactions.

• Build and maintain machine learning models for text classification, entity extraction, embeddings, semantic search, and summarization.

• Fine-tune or prompt-engineer large language models such as GPT, Gemini, LLaMA, BERT, and T5.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure high-quality data pipelines for training and inference.

• Translate business requirements into scalable AI/ML capabilities.

• Conduct model evaluation, validation, monitoring, and performance optimization.

• Support enhancements, updates, and change requests for chatbot AI functionality.

• Document modelling decisions, experiments, and performance insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging technologies in NLP, LLMs, vector databases, RAG, and generative AI.

Mandatory Requirements

• 4-6 years of hands-on experience in machine learning, NLP, and LLMs.

• Practical experience with large language models (GPT, Gemini, BERT, etc.) and NLP tasks such as NER, sentiment analysis, embeddings, and text classification.

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.

• Strong Python programming skills, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, and LangChain.

• Experience working with cloud environments, preferably GCP (AWS or Azure acceptable).

• Knowledge of SQL and experience preparing datasets for model development.

• Strong English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the GCP AI ecosystem, including Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.

• Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow, or CI/CD pipelines for ML models.

• Hands-on experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or Elasticsearch.

• Experience designing AI features for enterprise-scale environments.

• Experience working in Agile or cross-functional teams.
