Contract - Mostly Remote (occasional on-site in the South of England)

We are seeking a Data Center Migration Consultant - (Microsoft stack - AD, Exchange, SQL, VPN, Intune, Azure)to lead a large-scale infrastructure transformation programme. The role will drive the migration of on-premises data centres, uplift data centre operating models, and design a centralised infrastructure monitoring capability spanning cloud, security, and on-prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of data centre migrations.
• Drive improvements to the data centre operating model in line with industry best practices.
• Design and implement a centralised infrastructure monitoring platform and consolidate monitoring streams.
• Integrate monitoring across infrastructure, cloud, and infosec platforms.
• Deliver project outcomes within agreed timelines and manage scope changes.
• Oversee handover to permanent support staff and build operational runbooks.

Key Skills

• Strong background in Microsoft technologies (AD, Exchange, SQL, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Azure, M365).
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Nutanix, HPE Servers/Blades, HPE SAN storage (Nimble, Alletra, 3PAR).
• Enterprise networking (HPE ProCurve/FlexFabric), Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops, Citrix ADC, and FortiGate Firewalls.
• Experience designing and consolidating central monitoring systems across infra/cloud/security.
• Automation and Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to streamline operations.
• Strong stakeholder management, documentation, training, and operational transition skills.

Nice to Have Certifications

• CDCP, CDCMP, CCNP Data Center, Azure Admin Associate, VCP, NCP, HPE ASE, CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, ITIL Foundation
