We are looking for one "remote Data & Reporting Specialist - Oracle & Microsoft" to start ASAP (July desired) an initial contract til years end (extensions possible) for an international Org' - client in ROME, where 100% REMOTE work is possible. Possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability. English speaking environment.

TASKS

The Data and Reporting Specialist provides advanced technical and subject matter expertise in the management, optimization, and evolution of UN-client's data platforms and Business Intelligence solutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continuous availability, reliability, and performance of the UN-client's Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Analytics/Visualization technologies, with a specific focus on platforms powered by Microsoft (Power BI, Azure SQL Server, ADF and related Azure Services) and Oracle (Oracle Analytics Server, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Data Warehouse).

Details:

• Provide technical support for corporate analytics tools, including DWH, ODI, OAS, and Power BI.Assist in resolving technical issues related to Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Purview.
• Conduct data integrity checks, analysis, and reporting from various systems such as ICP, Flexcube, PeopleSoft, and UN-CLIENT agile systems.
• Implement robust error handling and retry mechanisms in integration frameworks like Azure Data Factory and Oracle Data Integrator to manage transient failures effectively.
• Utilize advanced monitoring and logging features for comprehensive pipeline management, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
• Develop new integrations, reports, or dashboards as needed to enhance analytics capabilities.
• Analyse the impact of change requests on interconnected data models and develop change management plans accordingly.
• Architect and implement highly scalable and fault-tolerant data integration solutions on Azure Data Factory, leveraging advanced features such as Data Flows and Mapping Data Flows to handle intricate data transformation logic efficiently.
• Build reliable ADF pipelines (failover logic, error correction/recovery algorithms, fine-tuning/optimizations).
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering support tasks and change requests.
• Develop REST APIs using Oracle Apex to facilitate seamless data access and manipulation.
• Work on Azure Machine Learning models to address the business needs related to advanced analytical reporting.
• Contribute to the Open Data project by implementing CKAN and ATLAS tools for efficient data management and visualization.
• Create detailed API documentation and implement robust API gateways for security and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate APIs, support Open Data initiatives, and enhance data accessibility.
• Incorporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) capabilities into APIs for spatial data processing and visualization.
• Any other duties as required.

SKILLS

• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in data management, business intelligence, and reporting within complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft and Oracle-based analytics ecosystems, including Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS).
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise systems such as Banking Solutions, ERP, and other custom applications within an agile framework.

• Strong expertise in developing and supporting Data Warehouses (DWH) and data pipelines, with a focus on data integrity, error handling, and performance optimization.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Data Factory, including the design of scalable and fault-tolerant data integration solutions, implementation of Data Flows, Mapping Data Flows, and custom retry/error recovery mechanisms.
• Proficiency in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for data transformation, integration, and scheduling workflows with advanced monitoring and logging.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance and cataloging.
• Demonstrated ability to develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and Oracle Analytics, enhancing data visibility and user accessibility.
