Job Description

Job Title: Data Analyst (WPB)
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 6 months (extensions likely)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join a high-profile programme within HSBC's Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) division. This role is pivotal in leading the data analysis activities across key workstreams, including source-to-target mapping and building a comprehensive data dictionary.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale data transformation initiatives within one of the world's leading financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data analysis component for strategic data transformation projects.

  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into detailed data mappings and definitions.

  • Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems.

  • Build and manage data dictionaries and support data lineage documentation.

  • Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams across Core Banking, Customer Databases, and Credit Carddomains.

  • Confidently face off to business stakeholders, presenting findings and leading workshops or deep-dives where required.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience within HSBC, specifically in the WPB (Wealth and Personal Banking) space - essential.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience working with data from Core Banking, Customer Databases, and Credit Card systems.

  • Demonstrable experience in leading data analysis efforts for large-scale projects.

  • Proficient in source-to-target mapping, data lineage, and metadata management.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and drive data analysis workstreams with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

  • Prior involvement in data migration or regulatory reporting initiatives.

  • Experience using tools like SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Collibra.
