Data Analyst

There is currently one permanent, full-time post.
The post-holder will support the implementation of the council's Climate Action Plan and the Our Planet city-wide programme of work by delivering high-quality data analysis and insights that inform climate action planning and delivery. The post-holder will report to the Monitoring, Learning and Reporting Officer, and will be responsible for:
- Undertaking data collation and spatial analysis and preparing high quality briefs, maps and documents containing evidence-based assessments and any relevant advice and recommendations in support of the work of the council.
- Providing data analytics support and advice to inform climate strategy and policy development and implementation.
The essential elements of the job will involve:
- Conducting spatial and statistical analysis of climate related parameters across Belfast and developing data visualisations and infographics to communicate climate progress to the public and stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining datasets to support climate adaptation and mitigation planning, enabling data collection and sharing internally within the council and with a number of external partners.
- Working with internal and external partners to develop data platforms to share and analyse climate-related data.

Organisational change and improvement, working with the Corporate Management Team and services to ensure council is a fit-for-purpose organisation with the appropriate culture, structure, capacity and skills to effectively deliver the Corporate Plan;
The Customer Focus Programme and Customer Hub, which will improve the service we delivery to our ratepayers; and
The Climate Team which will support delivery of the net zero and resilience ambitions of the council and the city.
