Data, AI and Insights Analyst- Innovation and R&D Department

Job Purpose: This role forms part of the RD&I Department and wider Client Transformation Division which has an objective to drive transformative investments across the portfolio of IDA clients. This job is an exciting and newly created role in the RD&I department. The Data, AI & Insights Analyst will play a key role in supporting the delivery of IDA Ireland's Innovation and R&D strategy through the application of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, business intelligence and data-driven insight generation. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between data analytics, AI innovation, client engagement and strategic value proposition development. Through extensive engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, the role will support evidence-based decision making through the development of dashboards, analytical tools, AI-enabled solutions and strategic insights that strengthen Ireland's competitiveness as a location for innovation, R&D, and wider transformation.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence- Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions and data visualisations.
- Integrate and analyse internal and external datasets to identify trends, opportunities and investment signals.
- Develop data models and analytical frameworks to support strategic decision making.
- Produce high-quality management information and performance reporting.
- Develop AI-enabled tools, workflows, agents and automation solutions.
- Leverage Generative AI technologies to generate insights, reports, content and decision-support outputs.
- Identify opportunities to deploy AI across departmental processes and client engagement activities.
- Support the responsible adoption of AI technologies, including governance, risk and ethical considerations.
- Generate evidence-based insights to inform sector strategies and investment targeting.
- Translate complex data into clear business recommendations and strategic narratives.
- Support the development of client-facing value propositions highlighting Ireland's capabilities in innovation, R&D, AI and digital transformation.
- Produce briefing materials, presentations and reports for senior management, committees and clients.
- Work closely with client transformation departments, sector teams, overseas offices and corporate functions to identify analytical needs.
- Work collaboratively with the Talent Development and Digitalisation (TDD) Team to support delivery of services to clients and generate insights from collective data.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support client engagements through the provision of data-driven insights and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with government agencies, research organisations, academia and ecosystem stakeholders where required.
- Promote data quality, consistency and governance across information sources.
- Ensure compliance with organisational data management requirements.
- Support best practice approaches to data management, analytics and AI deployment.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes using data, automation and AI.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, analytics platforms and AI developments.

- Ensure that continuous learning and development is undertaken through informal and formal learning and participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process.

- Experience in Power BI dashboard design and development.
- Strong analytical, data modelling and problem solving capability.

- A relevant Level 8 third level business/science sector related degree recognised on the National Qualification Framework is essential. Note: A level 8 qualification (or higher) in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Science or related discipline would be desirable.
- A full driving licence is essential.

- Technical competence in the use of a variety of marketing design tools.
€53,072 to €76,227 per annum contributory superannuation. Rising by long service increments to €78,059 (after 3 years satisfactory service at the maximum of the range. Non negotiable to start at the minimum of the scale unless currently employed in a public sector organisation.
